Disney Animated Character Walk of Fame Coming to Hollywood Studios’ Walt Disney Studios Lot

Disney is building a brand-new piece of Hollywood Studios history into the pavement itself, with animated character handprints, footprints, and autographs pressed into cement as part of the upcoming Walt Disney Studios Lot transformation, and the confirmed character list is already jaw-dropping.

The Walt Disney Studios Lot opens in phases starting May 26, 2026, replacing the former Animation Courtyard with a reimagined outdoor space inspired by the legendary Burbank, California, animation campus. As construction crews put the finishing touches on the courtyard, Disney has begun revealing one of its most charming new details: a Disney animated character Walk of Fame, with iconic characters leaving their marks in cement in a direct nod to the celebrity handprint tradition that has been a part of Hollywood Studios since opening day in 1989.

The list of confirmed characters is already enormous, and Disney says to expect many more before the area opens.

Every Disney Animated Character Confirmed for the New Cement Prints

Based on footage and images Disney has shared from construction, the following characters have already been immortalized in the new courtyard pavement. Each slab captures something visually specific to that character, much like the celebrity slabs at the Chinese Theater forecourt down Hollywood Boulevard.

  • Oswald the Lucky Rabbit — Walt Disney’s original creation before Mickey Mouse, Oswald contributes his three-fingered gloved handprints and large cartoon shoe footprints, with his name written directly in the cement. This one hits differently than any other slab on the list. Oswald is where it all began, and his presence at a land dedicated to the full history of Walt Disney Animation Studios is a genuine acknowledgment of the studio’s roots.
  • Mufasa and Simba — The Lion King father and son share a slab, with large and small paw prints pressed side by side and both names written in script. Coming just months after the release of Mufasa: The Lion King, the timing could not be better.
  • Bean Bunny — The sweet little Muppet gets his own cement moment, which is both surprising and completely delightful. Bean Bunny’s inclusion suggests that the Walt Disney Studios Lot character print program is casting a wide net across the full Disney family of characters.
  • Cinderella — Disney’s most iconic princess — leaves her mark on a slab that beautifully captures the character’s elegance. Given that Cinderella is celebrating a major anniversary milestone and remains one of the studio’s most beloved films, this is a well-earned spot in the courtyard.
  • Ursula — The sea witch from The Little Mermaid joins the courtyard, which is a wonderful contrast to the princess slabs nearby. Disney leaning into a villain here adds some theatrical variety to the walkway.
  • Yen Sid — The sorcerer from Fantasia, whose name is “Disney” spelled backward, contributes handprints and footprints accompanied by a celestial motif of stars and a crescent moon. Yen Sid presides over magic and is the symbol of Disney’s relationship with the imagination. His placement here is fitting in a way that goes beyond decoration.
  • Moana — The daughter of Motunui leaves her handprints and footprints in the cement, with her name written in a flowing script that matches the character’s adventurous spirit. With Moana 2 having been a massive success, her profile has never been higher.
  • Maui — The demigod from Moana gets his own slab alongside Moana’s, which makes sense given how central he is to both films. Expect his to be one of the more distinctive slabs in the whole courtyard.
  • Hercules and Pegasus — One of the most visually fun reveals in the whole batch, this slab features oversized handprints from Hercules alongside hoof prints from Pegasus, with lettering that echoes the stylized Greek font from the 1997 film. A cast member was photographed pointing at the slab during installation, practically glowing with excitement, and honestly the feeling is understandable.
  • Winnie the Pooh and Piglet — The Hundred Acre Wood duo share a cement slab together, with paw prints from Pooh and the much smaller footprints from Piglet right beside them. It is a genuinely sweet pairing that will be a crowd favorite.
  • Stitch — Experiment 626 leaves his mark in what promises to be one of the most chaotic and lovable slabs in the courtyard. Given Stitch’s enormous and still-growing global fandom, this one will be heavily photographed from day one.
  • Little John — The lovable bear from Robin Hood earns a spot in the courtyard, which is a lovely nod to one of Disney’s cult-classic animated films. Little John’s inclusion is a great sign that the character print program is not just going after the obvious heavy-hitters but is celebrating the full depth of the studio’s catalog.

Disney has confirmed that far more character slabs are coming and that the full scope of the program has not yet been revealed. Based on the variety already on display, fans should expect characters from across every era of Disney Animation to be represented.

The Hollywood Tradition Behind the New Prints

The idea builds directly on something Hollywood Studios has done since before the park even officially opened. When Disney-MGM Studios welcomed guests for the first time in May 1989, celebrities were invited to press their hands and feet into wet cement in the Chinese Theater forecourt, exactly as stars do at the real Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. That program gave the park an extraordinary collection of slabs from Jim Henson, Robin Williams, George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Dick Van Dyke, and many others. Jim Henson’s slab, dated 8/28/89 and featuring Kermit the Frog’s tiny green footprints alongside Henson’s own, remains one of the most beloved and visited spots in the entire park to this day.

The original program also included a handful of animated characters. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Roger Rabbit all placed their prints in the Chinese Theater forecourt at opening. Now, as Hollywood Studios evolves into a park that celebrates the full legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios, the new Walt Disney Studios Lot courtyard character prints feel like the natural continuation of that tradition on a much grander scale.

Where the New Prints Will Be and When to See Them

The character cement prints will be located throughout the new Walt Disney Studios Lot courtyard, the outdoor space replacing Animation Courtyard, themed to the iconic Burbank animation campus. Disney’s official description of the courtyard hints at their presence, noting that guests exploring the studio grounds might see characters “digging in the grass” — a cheeky nod to what is being built into the pavement right now.

The courtyard area is expected to open in mid-to-late April 2026 ahead of the May 26 debut of Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, with The Magic of Disney Animation attraction following later in the summer. The full Walt Disney Studios Lot, including every outdoor element, is expected to be complete well before the end of Cool Kids’ Summer 2026.
