“Stuff You’ve Never Seen”: Disney’s Hollywood Studios Reveals New Shows. Guests are in for two new entertainment offerings this coming May 27th, 2025, when The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After open. These additions to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will bring the total Disney Live Entertainment shows offered at the Park to seven.

Disney Live Entertainment show offerings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

  • Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage
  • Disney Jr. Play and Dance
  • Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After
  • FANTASMIC!
  • For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
  • Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
  • The Little Mermiad – A Musical Adventure

Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Dedication reads: “The World you have entered was created by The Walt Disney Company and is dedicated to Hollywood—not a place on a map, but a state of mind that exists wherever people dream and wonder and imagine, a place where illusion and reality are fused by technological magic. We welcome you to a Hollywood that never was—and always will be.”

It is important to mention the “fused by technological magic”. Clint Clarke, Disney Live Entertainment Manager of Audio Systems Design, spoke during Summer Showcase: What’s New, What’s Next at Walt Disney World, where we learned about the latest updates and happenings coming to Walt Disney World Entertainment.

Clint gave us a little taste of some of the music coming to The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, explaining that the show is fully reimagined with stunning set pieces, magical costumes, cutting-edge effects, skillfully mastered puppetry, and a bold new design. Oh, and while Clint was presenting, we got as subtle reminder (heptic feedback and lighting up) that Magicband+ will be used during the show.

“The Disney Live Entertainment team is engaged with technology to enhance the show taken to a whole new chapter that you have never seen before” he continues “stuff you have never seen before. Including, physical props, scenery, actors puppets, and so many different things. New digital jaw dropping effects” at this point, you could hear the excitement was palpable in Clint’s voice. He concluded talking about Princess Ariel’s new musical with “Look, Ya’ll heard the date, come back and see it for yourself, I can’t give too much away.”

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After was next, and as our MagicBand+ turned on and lit up red, Clint went on to explain, “This newly refreshed space will feature a brand new stage with the lastest technology, and wait for it… Comfortable seats!” furthermore, “The audience will be part of the show, as they make the last call in a delightfully wicked finale filled with dozens of the most infamous evildoers awaiting your decision.” Check out some images that Disney Live Entertainment just released inside the Sunset Showcase.

While the park’s function as a working ‘Hollywood’ studio has diminished, its focus on celebrating Hollywood’s, more importantly, Walt Disney Studios’ history and storytelling remains. Even with the addition of themed lands like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, the park still retains a connection to the spirit of Hollywood through its entertainment offerings.

The introduction of new entertainment reinforces that Hollywood connection. The upcoming debuts of The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After emphasize the park’s commitment to live performance and bringing beloved stories to life.
