GEO-82: Epcot’s Adults-Only Lounge Inside Spaceship Earth. Disney just announced that the new name for the lounge coming to Epcot inside Spaceship Earth will be GEO-82. Geo means Earth, and 82 is for the year Epcot opened in 1982! Furthermore, Disney also announced that GEO-82 in Epcot will be officially the second adults-only lounge at Walt Disney World, and first at a Disney World Park. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is the other adults-only lounge which starts at 8:00 P.m. nightly.
New logo, new name, new lounge, and Amazing Views! Just imagine sitting by the windows with World Showcase Lagoon in the distance when the torches light up, and then Luminous: The Symphony of Us fireworks begin! In the foreground will be views of World Celebration and all the lights syncing up with Spaceship Earth. Plus, right below you should see the Walt Disney statue looking into the distance.
We recently saw construction on the back exit of Spaceship Earth, it has since been completed. We wondered if the walls were up and construction taking place was for the new GEO-82 Lounge.
Can you name a place at Walt Disney World where you can spend an elegant time indulging in modern cocktails, taking in views of sprawling World Celebration gardens and World Showcase Lagoon from inside a world-famous icon? I can – and that place is GEO-82, the all-new lounge coming to EPCOT.
Inside GEO-82: An Adults-Only Lounge
When GEO-82 opens this year, the location will offer reservations for guests 21 and older. This lounge will be the ultimate spot to toast to a trip around EPCOT with innovative cocktails and globally influenced small plates while you take in spectacular park views.
With this new lounge, you’ll feel like you’re discovering an all-new part of Spaceship Earth – GEO-82 will surround you with iconic shapes and intricate structures inspired by the park’s instantly recognizable icon. You’ll sit amid rich textures and warm, metallic tones that echo Spaceship Earth in an elegant and intimate setting.
Designing the Future of Lounges at Walt Disney World
When it opens, GEO-82 will be the first of two new lounges coming to Walt Disney World this year. For those interested in discovering fun beverages for the whole family, keep an eye (and perhaps a telescope!) out for more news about the Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern coming to Magic Kingdom Park later this year.
Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more information. We can’t wait to share more about this experience, including when you can make reservations, the opening date, and what kinds of delicious drinks and bites will be part of the GEO-82 story … if you can read the menu, thank the Phoenicians!
