New Spaceship Earth Walls: Lounge Construction? Epcot, Wall-Cot, for years guests had complained about all the green walls surrounding the front of the Park. All that changed in 2023 when World Celebration finally opened and the walls had come down. Revealing a beautiful new garden area, CommuniCore Hall & Plaza, and Mickey’s & Pal meet and greet.
Entering Epcot since then has been a very nice experience not seeing the walls that lasted for 5+ years! So, when we go to Epcot and see large green walls have returned, we gotta question what is going on behind them. Today, a small green wooden wall, with a larger green fence-type wall was erected at the exit of Spaceship Earth’s Project Tomorrow.
The wall is located at the back exit from Project Tomorrow, and in the image below you can see the glass windows of what will be the home of the new Spaceship Earth Lounge.
Our speculation is this has everything to do with the new lounge opening in Epcot at Spaceship Earth in 2025. Previously Disney had announced during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event that a few new lounges would be opening at Walt Disney World. A Pirates-themed lounge at Pirate of the Caribbean in the Magic Kingdom, and a new lounge in Spaceship Earth.
So next time you’re looking to take a load off (and relive any miraculous journeys you’ve just taken or plunder you’ve come across), there will soon be two new locations to check out. Here’s what else you need to know:
New Lounge Inspired by Spaceship Earth: For over 40 years, Spaceship Earth has welcomed visitors to EPCOT as a shining beacon of optimism and hope. This just-announced lounge is inspired by the stories, shapes, and enduring legacy of this timeless icon.
