New Facade Taking Shape at ‘The Monstro’ in Monstropolis Hollywood Studios. Construction crews are in the beginning stages of transforming the old Grand Ave Theater into the new theater for Monsters Inc. Land coming to Hollywood Studios.
After the thunderstorms rolled through last night here at Walt Disney World, it is a beautiful sunny morning for the Presidents’ Day holiday 2026. We are up early to check out the Parks this morning and see how construction is going at Hollywood Studios. Our first stop is the new Monsters Inc Land coming to the old Muppets Courtyard.
Guests will notice that the temporary construction walls have been moved out to the edge of the sidewalks at the entrance to the new land, all the way to the walkways. It doesn’t affect guest traffic in the area, but visually, it looks like it cuts the space guests use to line up for early entry into Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
The old Grand Ave Theater, which was home to Muppet Vision 3D for 2 decades, is being transformed into what can only be assumed is called ‘The Monstro’ (subject to change). Which may house a brand new Monsters Inc. show. A new facade is being constructed in front of guests’ eyes, with crews removing the old signage and now removing bricks.
New images we took this morning show that a massive outline has been cut out of the brick facing the front entrance to The Monstro. Also on the clocktower crews have removed bricks for where a new banner display will hang.
We already know a new Monsters Inc. suspended roller coaster is coming. This will be in the newly expanded section of Hollywood Studios. Disney goes on to say that shopping and Dining are coming to the Monsters Inc.-themed land. From the image shared, the new restaurant will be Harry Hausen’s (no word on if it will be a sushi bar!) HarryHausen’s will be in the same location as Mama Melrose and Studio 1 Store are now. It appears the entrance to Harry’s will be where Studio 1 is now, and they will use the cooking area of Mama Melrose. Muppet*Vision 3-D building will become The Monstro, and a show called Late Night Screams is on the marquee.
