Regal Launches Regal Rewards+, a New $10.99 Monthly Subscription

Regal has launched Regal Rewards+, a new subscription tier starting at $10.99 a month that gives members a monthly 2D ticket that rolls over if unused, 20% off concessions, and no online convenience fees.

The price varies by zip code, and Rewards+ sits between Regal’s free Regal Crown Club program and its all-you-can-watch Regal Unlimited plan. Members get one 2D ticket every month, and if they do not use it, it carries over to redeem for a future release rather than expiring. Subscribers can also buy up to four additional discounted tickets a month, which makes it easier to bring a group along without paying full price for everyone. Beyond the monthly ticket, members earn 100 Regal Rewards points per dollar spent on qualifying purchases, plus birthday rewards and other member-only offers.

“Rewards+ was built for people who love coming to the theatre regularly but want flexibility in how and when they visit,” Regal Chief Commercial Officer Adam Rymer said in announcing the program.

Regal is timing the launch to a busy fall release slate, pointing new subscribers toward tickets for Resident Evil on September 18, Forgotten Island, Heart of the Beast, and Primetime all on September 25, and Digger and Verity on October 2, with Whalefall following October 16.

For anyone who already redeems Regal Crown Club points, this reads as the tier Regal has been missing. The free program earns credits slowly and Regal Unlimited only makes sense if you are seeing several movies a month, so Rewards+ fills the gap for people who go two or three times a month and want their next visit already partly paid for. At $10.99 and up, it pays for itself the moment that monthly ticket gets used on anything over about an $11 movie, and the 20% concessions discount and waived fees stack on top of that. It is easy to sign up for and just as easy to forget you are paying for something you are not fully using, so anyone considering it should be honest about how many movies they actually see in a typical month before committing.

Moviegoers can sign up for Regal Rewards+ through the Regal app or website.
