Hallmark Channel’s 25th Birthday celebration wraps up with the premiere of Aussie at Heart on August 15th at 8/7c. We are going to Queensland, Australia, on this adventure. This movie stars Rhiannon Fish and Daniel Lissing as Samara and Nate. Samara, a former lawyer now event planner, reunites with Nate, her ex‑coworker and rival, to plan a couple’s anniversary in Queensland and begin to confront their past and fall for each other.
Hallmark fans have come to rely on Rhiannon Fish to star in destination adventure movies, and this is no different. It’s always a treat when we get to hear Daniel Lissing speaking in his native accent. The movie relies on the rivals-to-lovers trope that we see a lot of on Hallmark Channel. It relies on chemistry, and Fish and Lissing have this. The natural banter, the mix of annoyance and unresolved tension, and then the swoon all work for Aussie at Heart.
Aussie at Heart is directed by Colin Budds. Budds also directed one of my favorite Hallmark movies from earlier this year, A Melbourne Match. Ansley Gordon and Sophie Tilson are the writers of Aussie at Heart. Ansley Gordon has previously written Hallmark movies such as Love Under the Mistletoe, A Royal Setting, and Melt My Heart this Christmas. Sophie Tilson was a producer on A Melbourne Match.
Aussie at Heart was a delightful escape to the beautiful scenery of Queensland. I’m a fan of the movies where the scenery shines. This is no different. Rhiannon Fish and Daniel Lissing have an easy chemistry, and it works. If you are a fan of either actor, you will be happy. Rhiannon just knows how to do destination movies. Aussie at Heart is a nice way to close out the Hallmark Channel 25th Birthday Celebrations.
