IMAX has launched a limited-edition The Odyssey Film Camera Popcorn Bucket for $50, inspired by the legendary 15/65mm camera that Christopher Nolan has used on some of cinema’s most celebrated films. The collectible bucket is available now at store.imax.com and ships starting July 3. The design pays tribute to the IMAX 15/65mm Camera — the same camera Nolan has called “the Gold Standard” of filmmaking and used on The Dark Knight, Interstellar, and his upcoming film The Odyssey. The bucket features a viewfinder that lights up to reveal a scene from The Odyssey in IMAX’s exclusive 1.43:1 Expanded Aspect Ratio. Quantities are limited, and all sales are final. Popcorn is not included.
The timing is significant. IMAX tickets for The Odyssey went on sale this week, and demand has already overwhelmed ticketing systems. The AMC website crashed under the weight of fans scrambling for seats, with IMAX showtimes selling out at theaters across the country.
