Disney+ just announced a wave of new Bluey content arriving this month and in May, headlined by Bluey’s Big Play: The Stage Show premiering on March 16 and a collection of 10 Bluey Minisodes landing on the platform for the first time on May 20. The announcements come alongside confirmation that Bluey and Bingo are heading to Disney’s Animal Kingdom starting May 26, which we covered in detail in our Bluey’s Wild World guide. It has been a busy stretch for Bluey on streaming. We covered four new ways to watch Bluey on Disney and Disney Jr. last summer, and the minisode rollout has been building since we first reported on more Bluey minisodes being announced back in late 2024.
Bluey’s Big Play: The Stage Show Premieres March 16
Bluey’s Big Play: The Stage Show is a televised version of the popular touring theatrical production, featuring live performances of Bluey characters brought to life by puppeteers. The special has an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and music composed by Joff Bush, who scored the animated series. It is produced by BBC Studios Kids and Family Productions in association with Ludo Studio, Andrew Kay, and Windmill Theatre Co. If the stage show itself is on your radar, Bluey’s Big Play is returning to the U.S. in 2026 for a new round of tour dates. This is not a clip compilation or a behind-the-scenes special. It is a full adaptation of that production filmed as its own special, and it premieres this Sunday.
10 Bluey Minisodes Coming to Disney+ for the First Time May 20
A collection of 10 Bluey Minisodes will be available on Disney+ for the first time beginning May 20. The shorts run one to three minutes each and were previously only available online and in Australia. They focus on Bluey and Bingo in playful moments and games that expand the world of the show without being full episodes. The 10 minisodes in the collection are Humpty Dumpty, Green Bottles, Flying Saucer, Tea Party, Pea Pod Sausages, Old Macdonald, Honk, Lollipop Song, Cinderella, and Make Mum Laugh.
The Bluey Movie Is Coming in 2027
Disney also confirmed today that the feature-length Bluey movie will release in cinemas on August 6, 2027, produced by BBC Studios and Walt Disney Studios in partnership with Ludo Studio. We broke this down when it was first announced last September in our Bluey movie announcement article. No plot details have been announced yet. Joe Brumm, who created the series and wrote the stage show’s original story, stepped away from the TV series in late 2024, but his involvement in the stage show special and the movie suggests his connection to the franchise continues in a meaningful way.
Bluey Is Everywhere in 2026
Beyond Disney+, Bluey is having its biggest year yet across Disney properties. Bluey’s Best Day Ever! opened at Disneyland’s Fantasyland Theatre on March 22, transforming the space into a Fun Fair at Bluey’s School with live performers, Bluey and Bingo appearances, and live-action moments from the series. Bluey and Bingo are also sailing on Disney Cruise Line this year. And starting May 26 at Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, guests can play games from Bluey episodes, meet Bluey and Bingo in person, and visit Jumping Junction to see Australian animals. That experience stays beyond Cool Kids’ Summer.
It is worth noting that Bluey was the number one most-streamed program in the United States in 2025 for the second consecutive year, with 45.2 billion minutes streamed. The stage show premiere this Sunday and the minisode collection in May keep that momentum going ahead of the movie in 2027.
Keep it locked to Fantasy Land News for more Bluey coverage as the year continues.
