Popcorn bucket fans, this one is for you. A Yoshi Popcorn Bucket is coming to movie theaters when The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits the big screen on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and it looks absolutely incredible. Tickets for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie go on sale March 9th, 2026. Non-exclusive Yoshi Popcorn Bucket will be available at AMC Theatres, Regal, Cinemark, and many others.
What Does the Yoshi Popcorn Bucket Look Like? This bucket is designed to look just like Yoshi himself. The iconic green dino sits in a relaxed pose, holding out a bowl shaped like a Yoshi Egg. It’s white with those classic green spots, and that egg is where all your popcorn goes. The detail on this thing is impressive. You get the full Yoshi look: big round head, blue eyes, little orange shoes, and the red shell on his back. It looks like something straight out of Super Nintendo World, and honestly, it’s one of the better-looking theater buckets we’ve seen in a long time. It holds 105 oz of popcorn (if you want), and should come with a large popcorn.
If you’ve been following our coverage, you’ve heard us talk about Yoshi merchandise for months. Back in December, we wrote about how badly we needed Universal to bring over the Bob-omb Popcorn Bucket and Yoshi Sipper from Japan to Epic Universe. The movie giving us a Yoshi bucket at theaters feels like the universe listened.
Where Can You Get It? The Yoshi Popcorn Bucket will be available at multiple theater chains when the movie opens, including AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and more. That kind of wide rollout means fans across the country should have a real shot at grabbing one without much travel. AMC Theatres was the first to announce the Yoshi Popcorn Bucket this morning at 8:00 AM. While Regal just released a video! Watch Below. This should be available online a few days before the movie’s release. Yoshi is designed and manufactured by ZINC.
How Much Will It Cost? Based on what we’ve seen from similar movie popcorn buckets over the past couple of years, we expect this one to land around $50. Theater-exclusive collectible buckets in this range have become the norm, especially for big franchise films. The Dune: Part Two popcorn bucket, several recent Disney releases, and plenty of others have all come in at that price point. It stings a little, but for a bucket this detailed, most collectors will say it’s worth it.
We covered the Bubly x Super Mario Galaxy Movie collab earlier this year, and we also broke down the latest Yoshi trailer back in January. The marketing machine for this film is fully running, and the popcorn bucket is the latest piece of that puzzle.
Universal Epic Universe Has Big Plans for the Movie’s Opening. If you’re planning a trip to Universal Epic Universe in Orlando around the movie’s release, there is even more to look forward to. Universal just announced a limited-time experience launching on MAR10 Day, Tuesday, March 10, running daily through Monday, April 13, 2026, perfectly timed around the film’s April 1st opening.
As part of the celebration at Super Nintendo World, Yoshi will be part of a limited-time meet and greet at Universal Epic Universe. That alone is a huge deal for fans who have been wanting more character interaction inside the land.
On top of that, Universal is offering exclusive interactive shoulder pals themed to the Luma characters from the film. They come in blue and yellow, feature light and sound effects, and the really fun part: they actually communicate with each other when two of them are close together. These are a first-of-their-kind item, and based on what Universal has described, they’re going to be one of the most talked-about pieces of merch from this whole release.
Should You Go Opening Night for the Bucket? If you are a popcorn bucket collector or a Mario fan, the answer is pretty clearly yes. These theater-exclusive buckets have a history of selling out fast, especially for opening weekend. The wide theater rollout helps, but demand for Mario merchandise has been massive ever since the first film came out. Waiting a few weeks could mean empty shelves.
Our advice: check your local AMC, Regal, or Cinemark listing ahead of April 1st and see if they post availability details before the release date. Some theaters have started doing pre-orders or early pickup for these kinds of items.
