Toy Story 5 Trailer: Woody and Buzz Return to Face a New High-Tech Rival. The first Toy Story 5 trailer is finally here, giving fans a look at the long-awaited Pixar sequel hitting theaters on June 19, 2026. Disney and Pixar released the official footage today, confirming that Woody and Buzz Lightyear will reunite to deal with a new kind of competition for Bonnie’s attention: a tablet named Lilypad. This latest installment in the beloved franchise explores how traditional toys survive in a world dominated by screens and electronics.
Screens vs. Strings
The new trailer shows the gang dealing with a major shift in playtime. Bonnie has a new tablet device called Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee. Lilypad isn’t just a gadget; she has her own ideas about what Bonnie should be doing, and it doesn’t involve playing with plastic cowboys or space rangers.
But the biggest moment for longtime fans is the onscreen reunion of Woody and Buzz. After Woody headed off to lead the “lost toys” at the end of the fourth movie, many thought his journey was over. It looks like the threat of technology is what finally brings the old friends back together.
New Faces and Returning Favorites
Pixar also shared a massive list of who’s voicing the toys this time around. There are some interesting new additions to the cast:
- Greta Lee as Lilypad (the tablet)
- Craig Robinson as Atlas (a GPS hippo)
- Matty Matheson as Dr. Nutcase (a toy who is scared of tech)
- Shelby Rabara as Snappy (a camera toy)
The original crew is mostly intact, too. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are back as Woody and Buzz. You’ll also hear familiar voices like Joan Cusack (Jessie), Wallace Shawn (Rex), and John Ratzenberger (Hamm). Even Keanu Reeves is returning as Duke Caboom.
The Creative Team
The movie is in experienced hands. Andrew Stanton, who directed Finding Nemo and WALL•E, is at the helm. He’s joined by co-director Kenna Harris and producer Lindsey Collins. To top it off, Randy Newman is returning to handle the music, marking his fifth time scoring a Toy Story film.
How to Watch
You won’t find this on Disney+ right away. Toy Story 5 is set for an exclusive theatrical release on June 19, 2026.
That is not all. Toy Story 5 will be featured in the Disney Parks around the world. From TWDC: “We are continuously expanding storytelling in our parks, with new experiences featuring Bluey, activations planned around the release of Toy Story 5, and a new mission featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu inside Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run coming soon.”
