Where is Bluey? Time Running Out for Bluey and Bingo to Arrive at Walt Disney World This Year
TL/DR – Disney fans are getting antsy as the end of 2025 approaches with no official arrival date for the beloved character Bluey at Walt Disney World. Despite a December 2024 announcement promising her arrival in 2025, details remain scarce. Expect an announcement soon.
While Bluey and Bingo have already debuted on Disney Cruise Lines, speculation is mounting that their most likely home at Walt Disney World is Disney’s Hollywood Studios, especially with the closure of Animation Courtyard on September 25, 2025, to make way for a new “Magic of Disney Animation” area. With a Bluey movie slated for a 2027 release, Disney is under pressure to deliver on its promise to introduce the character to the parks, with many hoping a meet-and-greet in the Walt Disney Presents Theater could be a perfect and timely solution.
Where is Bluey at Walt Disney World? When will the pup and her sister Bingo Arrive?
The sun has set on Walt Disney World’s “Cool Kids Summer,” but the heat is still on for one of the most anticipated new arrivals of the year: Bluey. After an announcement in late 2024 that the beloved Australian pup and her family would be making their way to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland in 2025, fans have been eagerly awaiting an official arrival date. Now, with the summer season officially over and no new information from Disney, a quiet anxiety is building among those hoping to meet the Heelers before the year is out.
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, said: “Bluey has become a household name for families around the world and we are thrilled to bring her story to life in new ways. We can’t wait to watch our youngest guests and their families make memories with Bluey in our parks and on our cruises.”
The original press release from Disney Experiences promised that Bluey would be “getting ready to visit the most magical place on Earth,” with special activations being developed in collaboration with BBC Studios and Ludo Studio. The announcement also came with the news of a Bluey movie slated for a 2027 theatrical release. While Bluey and Bingo have already made their debut on Disney Cruise Lines originating from Australia and New Zealand in January 2025, the land-based experience at Walt Disney World remains a mystery.
“The Heeler family’s debut at Disney Theme Parks and Cruises really is the icing on the cake for what has been an exceptional year for Bluey. We are committed to creating the very best-in-class experiences for our fans and can’t wait to open the doors to families next year,” said Nicki Sheard, CEO of Brands and Licensing at BBC Studios.
With time ticking away in 2025, speculation is rampant about where the Heeler family could make their home. The most logical and widely rumored location has been Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a park that has been a long-time home for Disney Junior characters. Adding to this theory is the announced closure of Animation Courtyard, a key area of the park, on September 25, 2025. This closure, which includes the Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show and the Star Wars: Launch Bay is making way for a reimagined “Magic of Disney Animation” area.
While this new land is a welcome addition to the park and is not scheduled to open until 2026, it leaves a potential void for a new character experience. Could this be the perfect spot for Bluey and her family? With a need for more kid-friendly activities at Hollywood Studios, a new meet-and-greet would be a perfect fit. Some believe the Walt Disney Presents Theater, currently used for various meet-and-greets and previews, could serve as a temporary or permanent home. A D23: The Ultimate Fan Event-style backdrop recreating Bluey’s famous playroom would be a perfect, low-cost way to get the characters in the park.
As fans continue to wonder, one thing is clear: Disney is running out of 2025 to fulfill its promise of bringing Bluey to the theme parks this year. With a major theatrical release on the horizon, getting Bluey established in the parks would be a perfect way to build even more excitement. Until then, fans will just have to keep playing “Keepy Uppy” and “Magic Asparagus” as they wait for an official update from Disney.
