Pete Docter, who was a supervising animator on the first “Toy Story,” even showed some never-before-seen old footage from the original film. “Toy Story” brought huge success to Pixar and has since been nominated for 18 Academy Awards, winning 3! Both “Toy Story 3” and “Toy Story 4” won for Best Animated Feature, and “We Belong Together” from “Toy Story 3” won for Best Original Song.
Thirty years ago, “Toy Story” was first shown at a big animation festival called Annecy. And it seems like Docter’s announcement at Annecy today was a clear message to fans: “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” Get ready for more fun, laughter, and maybe some tech trouble with your favorite toys!
