
Brandy Returns to Cinderella Role in Disney Channel Movie: Descendants: Wicked Wonderland. “Wicked Wonderland” picks up after the time-traveling events of the previous film, exploring the consequences of altering time within the present-day setting of Wonderland.
Big News: Disney Branded Television is greenlighting “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland,” the fifth installment in the popular Disney Channel Original Movie series. It’s slated for a 2026 release on Disney Channel and Disney+.
Star Power: Brandy and Rita Ora are set to reprise their iconic roles as Cinderella and the Queen of Hearts. Paolo Montalban returns as King Charming, and Melanie Paxson will be back as Fairy Godmother – the only actor to appear in all five films.


New & Familiar Faces: The film will feature the return of characters introduced in “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” including Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker), alongside new additions like Max (Brendon Tremblay), Luis (Alexandro Byrd), and Hazel Hook (Kiara Romero).
Behind the Scenes: Kimmy Gatewood (“Muppets Mayhem”) will direct, with the script penned by Tamara Chestna (“Sneakerella”), Dan Frey, and Ru Sommer (“Descendants: The Rise of Red”). Emilio Dosal (“Wicked,” “Sneakerella”) will choreograph the musical numbers.
Franchise Legacy: This year marks the 10th anniversary of “Descendants.” The franchise has been a major hit for Disney, with the first three films topping cable movie viewership in their respective years. “Descendants: The Rise of Red” also saw significant success on Disney+.
