May the Fourth at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge – New Sabers, New Fashion. Fantasy Land News previously reported on Seasons of the Force, which is taking place in Disneyland. Disney had previously announced the new “Reclaimed and Reforged” addition to Savi’s, and now we have more details on the experience coming to Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. Starting May 4, 2025, for a limited time, guests at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort will be able to forge lightsabers with a brand new hilt theme: “Reclaimed and Reforged.”
As just discussed at the Walt Disney Imagineering panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan, guests will soon be able to chart a new path inside Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort for a limited time beginning May 4, 2025!
In the panel, Imagineers also discussed how interactive experiences expand beyond attractions inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, such as in the land’s merchandise and food, and beverages. Check out this life-size MSE droid that guests can remote control, or even the classic refreshment orbs with Aurebesh writing that can be purchased throughout the land on both coasts.
Every creative decision is made with care in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to ensure an immersive experience for all guests, whether guests are constructing their very own droid inside Droid Depot or shopping for a rotating collection of mysterious galactic artifacts inside Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.
Plus, our panel moderator, Ashley Eckstein (the voice of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels), has brought some of her influence from the Star Wars galaxy to Disney Experiences! Items from Her Universe, the groundbreaking fangirl fashion company featuring dresses, tees, jackets and more, are now available at Disneyland Resort and coming soon to Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Store.
Reclaimed and Reforged – Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers:
Why it matters: This limited-time offering provides a fresh narrative and aesthetic for the highly popular Savi’s Workshop experience, appealing to returning guests and adding a new layer of storytelling within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Details:
- The “Reclaimed and Reforged” theme centers around the idea of using salvaged scraps from across the galaxy to construct a unique lightsaber.
- Guests choosing this path will select from components that evoke a sense of history and mystery, hinting at past battles and forgotten technology.
- The building process remains the same: guests meet a Gatherer, choose their theme (for now, including “Reclaimed and Reforged” or one of the four year-round options), and then assemble their hilt from provided parts.
- Each “Reclaimed and Reforged” set includes:
- 1 hilt
- 4 sleeves (guests choose 2)
- 2 emitters (guests choose 1)
- 2 pommel caps (guests choose 1)
- 2 sets of activation plates and switches (guests choose 1 set)
The big picture: This limited-time update demonstrates Disney’s ongoing efforts to keep the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experiences dynamic and engaging for visitors. While the core experience of building a custom lightsaber remains, the introduction of new themes provides a reason for fans to return and craft a new piece of their Star Wars story.
