Work is Being Done on the Queue in Front of the Haunted Mansion. Walt Disney Imagineering has been updating queue elements around the Magic Kingdom, most recently on the Adventureland paths themselves. New cement, and adding in small details that make the area stand out, like footprints and leaf imprints. It appears that some work like that is being done in the queue at the Haunted Mansion here at Walt Disney World.
Construction walls have been installed in the queue, this would technically be the exit area of Haunted Mansion. In front of Gracey Manor, where the Hearse is being pulled (or not pulled) by a Horse (a ghost horse), work has begun on the pavement. This would be where the Photopass would normally take place. The area behind the hearse was blocked off, for now. This should not last very long and is just one of many projects ongoing at Disney World.
Speaking of Disney World’s version of the Haunted Mansion… let me throw this out into the atmosphere and see how quickly other sites start writing about it. When was the last time you saw the “Hanging Corpse” in the preshow elevator? We saw a post a few weeks ago saying they absolutely could not see the corpse lit up, and it appeared like it was removed. Upon investigating ourselves, we found the same thing yesterday.
We rode two times and had a different elevator shaft. Once time the left side of the fireplace, once to the right. Both times, we did not see the “hanging” scene. We did try and record it, but the phone’s video did not adjust to the light quickly enough for us to bring back proof. So either the scene is missing completely, or the lights need to be fixed. We tend to think it is the light. Either way, let us know what you have seen if you have ridden the attraction lately.
