Exciting Disney Character News for Walt Disney World Resort Guests. Meeting and greeting Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Chip & Dale, or any Disney Princess is a must-do when visiting “The Most Magical Place on Earth”. There are plenty of places inside the four parks to see your favorite character. When it came to Walt Disney Resorts, guests never knew if a character would show up and no times were ever listed.
That has now changed over at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. For the first time at any Disney Resort, Pop Century has listed times and days you can meet Disney Characters. Here is how the new signs read:
Disney Character Experience. Enjoy seeing your favorite Disney Pals at your Resort hotel! Be on the lookout in the lobby. MONDAY – WEDNESDAY FRIDAY – SATURDAY 11:30 AM to 12:20 PM
Unlike the structured lines in the parks, these resort character experiences are wonderfully spontaneous (not anymore!). Imagine strolling through the lobby and suddenly finding Goofy waving hello, or Minnie sharing a sweet moment with a child. These interactions are casual and relaxed, with characters freely interacting with guests, posing for photos, and spreading joy. There’s no need to wait in a lengthy queue; simply join in the fun and capture a truly magical memory.
Pop being the first Walt Disney World Resort to list the times for Disney Character meet and greets hopefully is just the start of the other resorts also listing the times and days.
We ran into Pluto on Disney’s Boardwalk and another time Goofy was waving at guests from the balcony. At Disney’s Polynesian, we have met Chip & Dale, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck. During the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary, we got to see Donald and Goofy on the Monorail at Grand Floridian, and many times we have had the chance to run into various Disney Characters all over Disney Resorts.
Before this update, we normally had to get lucky, or if you know what you are looking for… see the bus in the first image. That is the character RV. if you see that while traveling around Walt Disney World Resorts, that means a character is not far behind! This is kind of like being at Epcot for a Character Palooza that happens at random times.
