DinoLand USA Demolition Imminent at Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Permits Filed. We all knew it was coming on January 13th, 2025. The end of an era at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, an era of dinosaurs roaming around a carnival with rides and games. But, with the end of one era, comes a new era, and before a new era can start, the old has to be demolished!
Today, Disney has filed permits for the demolition of DinoLand USA. The address of 614 Dinoland Drive, Bay Lake, FL shows on Google Maps as the entrance to Dinoland near Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. Facility Demo is the reason for the permit.
The area that will be closed for what Disney is calling Phase One will be the area that features Triceratops Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. We do not know if this includes the giant dinosaur that overlooks the whole area.
The Official Statement: TriceraTop Spin will close permanently on January 13, 2025, to make way for the Tropical Americas coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park in 2027.
Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Dinoland USA is set for a major refurbishment to Tropical Americas featuring Encanto and Indiana Jones. We have been trying to figure out when the area would start closing off rides that will no longer fit the new land coming, well now we know. January 13th, 2025, TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will close permanently.
Disney Imagineering has said that the Dinoland USA land will be closed in phases. This is going to be phase one. We have already seen Disney file permits for a section of land behind the scenes to be used for trailer and construction storage, and Wally the American Crocodile was recently removed from in front of Restaurantasaurus.
DINOSAUR, The Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites are going to remain open with no timeline given for their eventual closures or refurbishments.
