Universal Studios Coaster “Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit” Closing September 2025. Reports recently showed that Universal Orlando had filed permits with the South Florida Water Management District. Within 24 hours of the news breaking, Universal Orlando confirmed the closure of the roller coaster “Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit” in a post on social media.
Rip Ride Rockit has a height of 167 feet, a length of 3,800 feet, and a top speed of 65 miles per hour, and was built by Maurer Söhne. The ride originally opened in August of 2009. The ride is famous for its red track which can be seen from I4 traveling through southern Orlando. The ride would take guests through various parts of Universal Studios including through scenes in the New York section of the Park. The ride was famous for the song selection that guests could choose for themselves when riding, and the hidden soundtrack that guests had figured out over the years.
There is no official word on what is going to replace the coaster, but it will be another roller coaster. Rumors swirling now including a B&M-built coaster. Theming rumors are a version of Fast & The Furious Hollywood Drift coaster that is being built at the Universal Hollywood Theme Park now.
This towering coaster offers a musical twist: As you strap in, you’ll pick the song you want to hear above your shrieks. Adrenaline pumping and music thumping, you’ll climb toward the sky at a 90-degree angle and tackle the first ferocious drop. Topping out at 65 mph, this rip-roaring ride is a blast from beginning to end.
Universal Orlando is about to open Epic Universe on May 22nd, 2025. It is nice to hear that Universal is still taking into account the other Parks and how to keep people invested in it.
