This is Hallmark’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas, and you can follow every premiere on our Countdown to Christmas hub. If you missed last weekend, catch up on the week 3 lineup, including Emilie Ullerup’s A Danish Christmas.
Thursday, November 5: Mistletoe Murders Season 3. The cozy mystery series is back for three new Christmas mysteries, with the Season 3 premiere date we reported in September. Based on the popular Audible original, it follows Emily Lane, played by Sarah Drew, who owns Under the Mistletoe, a year-round Christmas gift shop in the tourist town of Fletcher’s Grove. This season, Emily teams up again with Detective Sam Wilner, played by Peter Mooney, as her past collides with her present and leaves her questioning everything she believed to be true. Sierra Marilyn Riley, Kylee Evans and Jean Yoon return, and Catherine Bell, Aaron Ashmore and Holly Robinson Peete guest star. Hallmark has already posted the first seven minutes of Season 3 on its YouTube channel if you cannot wait until Thursday.
Friday, November 6: Merry Memories. Lindura stars as Michaela, a rigid accountant who steps in to help her brother care for his young son Danny while Danny’s mom is deployed with the military over Christmas. When Danny is assigned a holiday scrapbook for his mom, Michaela reluctantly accepts help from his free-spirited substitute teacher Bryan, played by Brendan Morgan. As mishaps turn into meaningful traditions, Michaela learns to embrace imperfection, and Bryan rethinks his future as a traveling substitute teacher.
Saturday, November 7: Holiday Unplugged. Nikki DeLoach plays Sally, an art teacher and widow who has spent 10 years honoring her late husband Jake while raising their two kids. Just as she is ready for love and gets matched on a dating app with Damon, played by Juan Pablo Di Pace, a server migration wipes out her treasured home videos of Jake, and her phone with the backups shatters. To buy time while she searches for the original tapes, Sally declares a screen-free Christmas for the whole family, and Damon joins the hunt from his uncle’s antique store.
Sunday, November 8: A Season of Promises. Brooke D’Orsay and Ali Liebert play Heidi and Sophie, sisters who drifted apart after their mother’s passing. Heidi is chasing a play-by-play job with the local pro hockey team, and Sophie is waitressing while chasing stand-up comedy. When their father Ed, played by James Denton, lands in the hospital after a fainting episode, the sisters set aside their differences to play Cupid and help him find someone special in time for Christmas.
Before Sunday’s premiere, Hallmark Mystery is running a pre-Veterans Day marathon of movies that honor members of the military from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET/PT on November 8. The lineup is Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas, Christmas Homecoming, Once Upon a Christmas Miracle and The Christmas Note.
I will be reviewing each of this weekend’s movies after they premiere, and you can follow along as I keep teaching my husband to love Hallmark Christmas movies.
Countdown to Christmas keeps going next weekend with My Christmas Cowboy starring Amy Acker and Luke Macfarlane on Friday, November 13, The Nights Before Christmas starring Tyler Hynes and Laci J Mailey on Saturday, November 14, and Mistletoe and Mimosas starring Tamera Mowry-Housley and Kristoffer Polaha on Sunday, November 15.
