Hallmark has locked in a premiere date for Mistletoe Murders Season 3. The mystery series returns Thursday, November 5, ahead of that weekend’s slate of new Countdown to Christmas movies, with new episodes available to stream the next day on Hallmark+.
Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney are both back as Emily Lane and Detective Sam Wilner, continuing the whodunnit franchise Hallmark first confirmed for a third season back in February, which FLN covered when Drew and Mooney made the announcement themselves. That piece has the full rundown on the cast, the Fletcher’s Grove setting, and the season two cliffhanger fans have been waiting to see resolved, including where things stand with Emily’s secret past.
Giving Mistletoe Murders its own Thursday night ahead of the weekend movie block keeps the series in the same programming slot Hallmark used for season two, and signals the network still sees it as a flagship piece of the Countdown to Christmas lineup rather than a side attraction. With a premiere date now confirmed, the bigger question becomes how much of Emily’s backstory season three actually answers, and how quickly.
“As we celebrated Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday last month I can’t help but reflect on the way Countdown to Christmas has evolved since its first year,” remarked Michelle Vicary, Head of Programming, Hallmark Media. “We’ve progressed from a schedule of daily Christmas movie marathons and four original movies to our robust 24/7 holiday programming across 10 weeks, featuring 34 original movie premieres and one original series with our hit Mistletoe Murders, now it its third season. We have our wonderful fans to thank for this longevity and are so grateful to them for joining us on this journey.”
Countdown to Christmas kicks off October 16 and runs for 10 weeks. Join the Realm at fantasylandnews.com/the-realm so you don’t miss any Mistletoe Murders casting or premiere updates between now and November 5.
