Regal is giving every guest at its Whalefall 4DX Early Access Screenings on October 14 a complimentary Whalebucket and popcorn, and the sperm whale popcorn bucket is now confirmed for Cinemark too. AMC teased the bucket on TikTok today, Swan Drive-In will start selling it online at 10 p.m. ET tonight, and the $49.99 Fandango Whalebucket Bundle is still available ahead of 20th Century Studios’ October 16 release.
Tickets for Whalefall went on sale today, September 30, and the whale has been busy online. It took over 20th Century Studios’ X account twice this month to insist it did nothing wrong. Now it is heading for the concession stand.
The bucket is a full sculpt of a gray sperm whale, with its big blunt head up front, knobby ridges down its back and a tail fluke at the end. Popcorn goes in through a flip-up hatch on the whale’s side, and a tiny scuba diver figure clings to the outside just below it, a fun nod to the movie’s hero. Based on the first photos, it runs close to two feet long. Capacity has not been announced, but Regal says its bucket comes with a large popcorn and Cinemark’s comes with an XL popcorn.
It is the third big theater collectible reveal this week, following the Rocky Steps popcorn bucket for Rocky 50th Anniversary and the Book Stack popcorn tin for Sense and Sensibility.

Regal has the headline deal. Its Whalefall 4DX Early Access Screenings on October 14 include a complimentary Whalebucket and popcorn with admission for every guest, while supplies last. 4DX adds moving seats plus water, wind, lighting, and scent effects timed to the movie, which feels like the right way to see a film about a diver stuck inside a whale. If you cannot make the early screening, Regal will also sell the Whalebucket starting October 15 at select locations, while supplies last, and it comes with a large popcorn.
Cinemark has confirmed its own Whalebucket, and it includes an XL popcorn with a free same-day refill. It is listed for select theatres while supplies last. Cinemark has not posted a price or a first day of sale yet, so check your local theater’s concessions as opening weekend gets closer.
AMC teased the bucket in a TikTok video today, showing the whale rising out of a beach of popcorn under the words “Coming Soon.” AMC has not shared a price, a launch date, or which popcorn size comes with it, but the tease is a strong sign the whale is on its way to AMC concession stands.
The Fandango Whalebucket Bundle costs $49.99 and includes one Whalefall ticket and one Whalebucket, and Fandango’s offer page also lists the first chapter of Daniel Kraus’s novel. Popcorn is not included, and shipping is added at checkout. The bucket begins shipping in October, and buyers must be 18 or older. The ticket comes as an emailed promo code that works for any format but can only be redeemed on Fandango.com or in the Fandango app.
Swan Drive-In in Blue Ridge, Georgia, will start selling the Whalefall Whale with Diver Popcorn Bucket at 10 p.m. ET tonight through its mail-order shop. The listing shows a price of $39.95, and the product page stays locked until the sale goes live. If you want the whale shipped to your door without buying a ticket, this is the one to watch tonight.
Swan’s $39.95 is the only standalone price posted so far, and Fandango’s $49.99 bundle covers a ticket along with the bucket. Regal, Cinemark, and AMC have not posted prices. Based on Swan’s listing and comparable sculpted buckets, our estimate is $35 to $45 at the concession stand with popcorn included, but that is an FLN estimate, not an official price. If you were going to see the movie anyway, the best value is the Regal 4DX early screening, since the bucket and popcorn come with your ticket.
Whalefall is based on Daniel Kraus’s novel and stars Austin Abrams as Jay Gardiner, a diver who gets swallowed by a sperm whale while searching for his late father’s remains and has one hour of oxygen to escape. Josh Brolin plays his father, and Brian Duffield of No One Will Save You directs. Our Take: If you were already planning to see Whalefall, the Fandango bundle is an easy call. You get your ticket, the bucket shows up at your door, and you skip the concession stand scramble on opening night. If you would rather see which chains carry it and at what price, it is worth waiting a few days. Either way, this is one of the most fun sculpts of the fall, and that little diver hanging on for dear life is what sells it.
