AMC revealed four new Harry Potter 25th Anniversary popcorn buckets at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23, including the Hogwarts Express Popcorn Bucket, the exclusive Harry Potter Broom Popcorn Bucket, the Hogsmeade House Popcorn Bucket, and the Gryffindor Drink Cup. The Broom Popcorn Bucket is large in scale, closer to the oversized He-Man sword bucket AMC sold earlier this summer than a standard concession item, and it unscrews in the middle of the bristles so the bottom half becomes the actual popcorn holder. AMC has not announced pricing, ounce capacities, or an on-sale date for any of these pieces yet, though the Broom Popcorn Bucket is expected to land around $55 USD based on early estimates. The full set is expected in late August (think around August 20th), timed to the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone 25th anniversary rerelease running August 27 through September 3 at AMC, Regal, and Cinemark, with tickets going on sale July 31.
Separately, international Cinemas have already revealed five pieces of the Harry Potter 25th Anniversary lineup: the Hogwarts Express Popcorn Container, Sorting Hat Popcorn Container, Briefcase Popcorn Container, Drink Cup, and Popcorn Tin, giving collectors an early look at pricing even though AMC’s US pricing is still unconfirmed.
- Hogwarts Express Popcorn Container: $110 AUD, which converts to about $77 USD. Recreates the red Hogwarts locomotive with gold accents and the engine’s recognizable shape.
- Harry Potter Broom Popcorn Bucket (AMC Exclusive): a large-scale broom bucket that unscrews in the middle of the bristles, turning the bottom half into the popcorn holder. No official price yet, with early estimates landing around $55 USD.
- Sorting Hat Popcorn Container: $70 AUD, which converts to about $49 USD. The Sorting Hat sits on top of the four Hogwart Houses books, and swings open to fill with popcorn.
- Briefcase Popcorn Container: $55 AUD, which converts to about $38.50 USD. Looks like Harry’s luggage.
- Harry Potter Drink Cup: Three separate toppers available, including a Golden Snitch, Hedwig the Owl, or the Whomping Willow, all in gold. $30 AUD, which converts to about $21 USD
- Popcorn Tin (black or blue Patronus version): $25 AUD, which converts to about $17.50 USD
- Hogwarts House Tumblers (4 versions, 1 for each house) with House Scarf. Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Gryffindor. We think priced around $30.
AMC has not announced pricing or an on-sale date for its Comic-Con lineup, only that the pieces are tied to the late August theatrical rerelease, matching the pattern Fantasy Land News tracks across every release on its Movie Theater Popcorn Buckets hub. The broom bucket’s exclusive status suggests it will only be sold at AMC locations, while the Hogwarts Express, Hogsmeade house, and Gryffindor cup pieces may end up available more broadly once other chains confirm their own lineups. Expect Regal. Cinemark, Harkins, Marcus, Swan, and others to announce them when tickets go on sale July 31st.
“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (titled “Philosopher’s Stone” in some markets) will return to theaters worldwide for one week from Aug. 27 through Sept. 3. The screening will include 12 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage not previously shown in theaters. All eight Harry Potter films will be available in theaters during this period. Tickets go on sale July 31.
Village Cinemas in Australia is further along than AMC on the pricing front. Its own Harry Potter 25th Anniversary range, first teased through silhouettes back in May, is now open for preorder with a confirmed date of August 20 and listed Australian pricing.
These buckets are part of a larger 25th anniversary push for the franchise. All eight Harry Potter films are set to return to AMC, Regal, and Cinemark screens from August 27 through September 3, with tickets going on sale July 31. Gaylord Texan Resort is also adding a Harry Potter ICE! experience this holiday season, the first time that annual attraction has been built around the Wizarding World. A new Harry Potter TV series is set to premiere December 25 on HBO Max, giving the franchise a packed back half of 2026 well beyond the theater lobby.
