Percy Jackson and the Olympians returned to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con today, and the cast and crew came with a big reveal for fans. Season 3, based on The Titan’s Curse, will premiere November 20 on Disney+. The panel also brought a full lineup of announcements and a first look at what’s ahead for Percy and the rest of the demigods at Camp Half-Blood.
Series stars Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Tamara Smart, Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie joined executive producers Craig Silverstein and Dan Shotz for the panel, moderated by content creator and Percy Jackson superfan Juju Green. It marked the show’s third appearance at the convention.
Season 3 is the first time The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series, has been adapted for the screen. Fans in the room got an early look at the season premiere’s opening scene, which included a video message from Leah Sava Jeffries. The actress, who plays Annabeth Chase, is currently filming The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen overseas and could not attend in person.
The new season raises the stakes for Percy as he deals with Annabeth’s sudden disappearance and a prophecy from the Oracle of Delphi that could decide the fate of Olympus. According to the prophecy, one demigod child of the Big Three is destined to either save Olympus or bring about its downfall, with their own life on the line.
Outside Hall H, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Experience returned to Comic-Con with a giant trident installation. Guests could choose to follow the path of Percy, Annabeth or Thalia, with each prong of the trident built out as its own environment tied to that character’s part of the story. The walkthrough included prophecy-themed clues, Easter eggs from the new season and exclusive Camp Half-Blood pins.
Season 3 was created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg. Steinberg, Dan Shotz and Craig Silverstein executive produce alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell, Bert Salke, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Sarah Watson and Tamara Becher-Wilkinson. Jet Wilkinson joins as an executive producer for the season’s final two episodes.
