Taylor Swift surprised everyone at last night’s Toy Story 5 world premiere in Los Angeles, taking the stage to perform “I Knew It, I Knew You,” the brand-new original song she wrote and produced with Jack Antonoff for the film, before joining legendary composer Randy Newman for a duet of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

Footage of both performances is now available via the official Disney press kit at epk.tv and Getty Images. We are including the full video in this article. The moment has quickly become the defining image of the premiere night — a 14-time GRAMMY Award winner and a two-time Academy Award winner sharing a stage for one of the most beloved songs in Pixar history.

Swift wrote and produced “I Knew It, I Knew You” alongside Jack Antonoff, and it is featured in Toy Story 5 as an original song contribution. Newman, a seven-time GRAMMY and two-time Oscar winner, returns to score his fifth Toy Story feature film — a run that now stretches back more than 30 years to the original 1995 release.

The premiere brought out the full voice cast, including Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear), Joan Cusack (Jessie), Conan O’Brien, Greta Lee, Craig Robinson, Tony Hale, and director Andrew Stanton alongside co-director Kenna Harris and producer Lindsey Collins. Pete Docter, Pixar’s chief creative officer, attended as executive producer.

In the film, Woody, Buzz, and Jessie find their world disrupted by Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee), a new tablet device with strong opinions about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Stanton and Harris co-wrote the screenplay from a story by Stanton. The premise — Toys vs. Tech — is the franchise’s sharpest high-concept hook since the Sunnyside Daycare arc in Toy Story 3.
