Measles Exposure Confirmed at Disneyland Park, California Adventure, and Disneyland Hotel. Orange County health officials have issued a high-priority health alert after a traveler infected with measles visited the Disneyland Resort. According to the Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA), the individual was present at several key locations within the resort, including Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Disneyland Hotel, marking a direct exposure risk for guests and Cast Members.
The HCA, in coordination with the California Department of Public Health, has identified specific times and locations where the public may have been exposed on Wednesday, January 28, 2026:
- Goofy’s Kitchen (Disneyland Hotel): 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Disneyland Park & Disney California Adventure Park: 12:30 p.m. to park closing.
Health officials are currently working with Disney to identify and contact Cast Members who may have been in direct contact with the traveler. Guests who were in these locations during the listed times are advised to monitor for symptoms for up to 21 days.
The HCA emphasizes that anyone who suspects they have contracted the virus should call their doctor first before arriving at a clinic or hospital to avoid exposing other patients in the waiting room.

History Repeating: The 2015 Disneyland Outbreak
This recent confirmation has renewed focus on the resort’s measles history. In 2015, Disneyland was close to the epicenter of a major multi-state outbreak that eventually infected over 140 people.
During that 2015 event, at least five Disneyland Cast Members were diagnosed with the virus. In response, Disney implemented a policy requiring employees in affected areas to show proof of vaccination or take paid leave. That outbreak had significant legislative consequences, leading to the California law (SB 277) that removed personal belief exemptions for required school vaccines.
Recommendations for Guests
The MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine remains the most effective defense against the virus. Health officials recommend that all travelers be fully vaccinated before visiting high-traffic destinations such as theme parks.
If you were at the Disneyland Resort on January 28 and are unsure of your vaccination status, health officials suggest contacting your healthcare provider to discuss a booster or to check for immunity.
