Disney’s “In Character” Shop Reopens at Hollywood Studios for New Little Mermaid Show. 2019 was the last time guests would ever see The Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Hollywood Studios, and when that show closed, the gift shop at the exit called In Character also closed up. Now, over five years later, it is open again.

The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure will open at the Animation Courtyard Theater in Hollywood Studios on May 27th, 2025. Just before the show premieres to guests, the exit store In Character has reopened for the first time in over five years. The store sells merchandise featuring Mickey & friends, and various The Little Mermaid and Disney Princess apparel. The store features a large mural of Princess Ariel under the sea behind the counter.

We did notice that the In Character signs were removed from the entrance to the shop yesterday.

Store Hours: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Yesterday, we were in the Animation Courtyard to check out all the brand new character experiences along with the new Get Animated dance party. Cool Kids Summer officially starts May 27th, 2025, but the fun has already started in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
