JAY-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on Sunday, February 14, 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Apple Music, the NFL and Roc Nation announced Monday. The halftime show is part of ESPN’s first Super Bowl, which Disney will carry on ESPN, ABC and Disney+.
Monday’s announcement styles his name JAŸ-Z, the same spelling used for JAŸ-Z 30, his year-long celebration of the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt. That run included three sold-out concerts at Yankee Stadium, and the key visual shows him with his face hidden under a New York Yankees cap with two dots over the Y.
The booking closes a loop that started years ago. Roc Nation, the company JAY-Z founded, already produces the halftime show with Apple Music and the NFL. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that when the league first reached its agreement with Roc Nation, “I had just one request: that JAŸ-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.”
JAY-Z called it “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage,” adding, “This run continues to be a dream come true.”
How to Watch the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show
Because Disney has the game, the halftime show will air on ESPN, ABC and Disney+. ESPN’s Spanish-language telecast is also on ESPN Deportes and Disney+, Univision has its own Spanish-language presentation, and NFL+ streams the game on mobile devices. As we reported when Super Bowl LXI joined Disney+, U.S. subscribers get the same game airing on ESPN and ABC, with Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge on the call.
Families can also watch Star Wars Funday Football, which turns every real play into a Star Wars animation on Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney XD.
Disney and ESPN have been building to February 14 all year, starting with the We’re Going campaign and The Year of the Super Bowl kickoff back in February. A halftime headliner was the biggest piece still missing.
JAY-Z Follows Bad Bunny and Kendrick Lamar
JAY-Z was the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is also a 25-time GRAMMY winner, a four-time Emmy winner and a 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Roc Nation will executive produce the telecast, and Hamish Hamilton will direct.
He has a high bar to clear. Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX show this past February became the most Emmy-awarded halftime show ever with seven wins, and Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX show is the most-watched halftime show of all time, according to Apple.
