The Pursuit: F1 Academy, a new documentary special about Formula 1’s all-female racing series, streams only on Disney+ around the world on Thursday, November 19, 2026. It drops the same day the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend starts. The special goes behind the scenes of the 2025 F1 Academy season with drivers Doriane Pin, Maya Weug, Chloe Chambers and Alisha Palmowski. It will also stream on the ESPN App later this year.

What is F1 Academy? It is a racing series Formula 1 started for young women. The goal is to get them ready to move up to bigger racing series, and one day to F1.

The cameras followed the drivers to every race on the 2025 calendar. You will see the pressure of race weekends and what they gave up to make it in the sport. It also shows the teams and leaders behind F1 Academy, including its boss, Susie Wolff.

The 2025 finale was in Las Vegas. Doriane Pin, who is backed by Mercedes, won the title over Ferrari’s Maya Weug. Chloe Chambers won the last race of the year, with Alisha Palmowski and Weug right behind her.

“Every driver on the F1 ACADEMY grid is pursuing a dream,” Wolff said. She said the special shows the sacrifices, setbacks and success that happen on and off the track.

Disney made the special with ESPN. It is part of “Fuel the Magic,” Disney’s deal with Formula 1. It started with Mickey and Friends, and Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck became the faces of F1 Academy at the Canadian Grand Prix this year. At D23 2026 in August, Disney and F1 extended the deal through 2028 and added Pixar’s Cars. Disney says more sports shows are on the way. Formula E joins Disney+ in December, which Disney and ESPN talked about in their D23 streaming panel. A Banana Ball documentary is coming to Disney+ and Hulu in fall 2027, too.

The timing is smart. Last season ended in Las Vegas, and this drops the day F1 goes back. If your kids love the Minnie and Daisy F1 Academy gear, this is a good way to show them the real drivers behind it.
