Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge now has a 3D model on display at Walt Disney Presents inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, giving guests a full look at the resort before it opens. The model shows the new Disney Vacation Club resort on Bay Lake, from the lazy river and pools to the Lake Houses themed to Brother Bear, and the display adds Bambi sketches and room artwork. The resort opens July 1, 2027, and reservations for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge are open now to DVC members, Annual Passholders and all guests.
The whole resort, lit up from the inside. There is a big pool and lazy river in the middle, kids’ play areas, a second pool by the water and a long boat dock. The A-frame Lake Houses line the shore. A wall of concept art shows the lobby, a fireworks lounge and a lakeside restaurant.
An easel holds three paintings labeled “Inspirational Resort Room Artwork.” They show the Northern Lights, a waterfall and two bears on a cliff that look a lot like Kenai and Koda from Brother Bear. That fits, since the Lake Houses are themed to Brother Bear.
You will also find sketches of Bambi and a grown deer, a drawing of a little bird and a bronze-colored Sparrow maquette. A maquette is a small model artists make before a full-size sculpture. No sign says where these will go. Imagineers already put giant otter figures at the resort, so more critters would not surprise us. Reservations are open to everyone. DVC members got first dibs on October 6, Annual Passholders on October 7 and all guests on October 8. Book on Disney World’s website or call 407-934-7639.
The display sits right next to the new Carousel of Progress costumes and models. Walt Disney Presents also just added new Monstropolis maquettes. Walt Disney Imagineering designed Lakeshore Lodge. Disney’s sign says models like this help Imagineers “lay out and perfect the designs of parks, resorts, and more.” Chris Beatty, Imagineering’s Portfolio Executive Creative Director, has led the big reveals for the resort. At D23 in August, he called the Lake Houses “love letters” to Brother Bear and the artists who made it. Imagineers also told Attractions Magazine that some people on the design team worked on Brother Bear. Daniel Trent, an associate show set designer, worked on Addy, one of the giant otters. She is made of fiberglass panels painted to look like wood.
Our take: In May, we rode out on Bay Lake with Imagineers and could only see the site from the water. This model shows the whole thing at once. Thinking about booking? Stop by Walt Disney Presents first. Follow every update in our Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge guide.
