Minky Couture is making Disney blankets. The new Minky Couture x Disney collection is coming in January 2027. Minky Couture founder Sandi Hendry shared the news on Instagram and gave fans a first look. The blankets shown include a giant Mickey Mouse face, a print with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto, a Minnie bow pattern and a classic Mickey in brown. Minky Couture has not shared prices or exactly where the blankets will be sold yet. We hope to see them in stores around Disney Parks and online!
What is Minky? Minky is a super soft, fuzzy fabric. It feels a lot like a stuffed animal. People love it for blankets because it is warm, cozy and smooth on both sides.
Who is Minky Couture? Minky Couture is a family-started blanket company based in Ogden, Utah. Sandi Hendry started it in 2009 after she made a soft blanket for her daughter during a long hospital stay. It opened its first store in Layton, Utah, in 2010. Today it sells about 80,000 blankets a month, and most of them are sewn by local women working from home. The company has also given more than 60,000 free mini blankets to babies in hospital NICUs. This year it was named the official blanket of the Boston Red Sox, and now Disney joins the list.
Our take: We are big Minky fans. We bought our first one in 2018. Today both of our couches are covered in Minky blankets, and Greg has a weighted one that makes for a perfect night’s sleep.
