Marvel Zombies is coming back to Disney+ for three more Halloweens. Marvel Animation announced three new two-part special events at New York Comic Con on October 8, 2026, starting with Marvel Zombies: Winter Soldier at Halloween 2027. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s head of television, animation and comics, opened the panel with the news. Marvel Zombies: Winter Soldier arrives at Halloween 2027. Marvel Zombies: Fist of Khonshu follows at Halloween 2028, and Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian closes the run at Halloween 2029.
Marvel calls it a renewal for three more seasons, and the format is worth a look. Each new installment is a two-part event. The first run, which we covered when the trailer arrived, was four parts and premiered on Disney+ on September 24, 2025. That puts six new parts on the calendar across three years.
According to reports from the panel, Bryan Andrews will direct all three, and Winter Soldier will show where Bucky Barnes was during the first series. Andrews created Marvel Zombies with Zeb Wells. Marvel has not said who the Last Guardian is.
Our take: this is great news. When Marvel Zombies first came off the comic page and onto the screen in What If…?, we wanted a whole show. We got it, and it lived up to everything we wanted. The four-part series earned its TV-MA rating, the first for a Marvel animated series. It is a great way to show the characters everyone loves in a new and original way. Now we need to go back and watch the first series again.
