Marvel Television has released a new trailer for VisionQuest, the eight-episode Disney+ series that wraps up the trilogy that began with WandaVision in 2021 and continued with Agatha All Along in 2024. Paul Bettany returns as Vision and James Spader returns as Ultron when VisionQuest premieres October 14, exclusively on Disney+.
The series picks up with Vision rebooted and in hiding after escaping the people who wanted to turn him into a weapon. Looking for a new purpose, he turns to the AI personas built into his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron. That quiet life ends when someone puts a bounty on his head, and Vision goes on the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be his son, reincarnated. To survive, he has to face what he really is, resist Ultron’s influence and figure out who his young companion is.
The first VisionQuest trailer debuted at D23 2026 in August and leaned trippy. This one leans into the chase, with Vision protecting Tommy while Ultron works to pull Vision to his side. Marvel first announced the series as the end of the WandaVision story at New York Comic Con last fall, and the October 14 premiere date was set in May.
Ruaridh Mollica plays Tommy, one of the twin sons Wanda created in WandaVision. Agatha All Along ended with his brother Billy setting out to find him, so VisionQuest is where that thread finally pays off. T’Nia Miller plays the android Jocasta and Todd Stashwick plays the bounty hunter Paladin, while Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire and James D’Arcy bring F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H. and J.A.R.V.I.S. to life. D’Arcy previously played Edwin Jarvis, the man J.A.R.V.I.S. is named after, in Agent Carter and Avengers: Endgame. Lauren Morais, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer round out the cast.
Terry Matalas, the showrunner behind Star Trek: Picard, created VisionQuest for television and directs alongside Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro and Vincenzo Natali. Jac Schaeffer, who created WandaVision and Agatha All Along, is an executive producer along with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Paul Bettany, Mary Livanos, Matalas and Byrne.
WandaVision has always streamed on Disney+, and starting today it is also on Hulu for a limited time, so anyone who only has Hulu can catch up before the premiere.
Our Take: Seeing Paul Bettany and James Spader on screen together again is reason enough to tune in, and Spader hasn’t played Ultron since Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. If you need a refresher, WandaVision and Agatha All Along add up to 18 episodes, so a couple a night gets you caught up right on time for October 14.
