A new limited-time food and beverage pop-up is coming to The Diamond Horseshoe in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom on October 4, with reservations opening September 29, and the full menu leans hard into frontier comfort food and craft cocktails. As long as the player piano is still playing, we will always be ready to eat at the Diamond Horseshoe!
We’ve said it before on this site, and we’ll say it again: we’ll take The Diamond Horseshoe over Liberty Tree Tavern every time. Quieter, easier to book, and that player piano in an old West saloon never gets old. This pop-up gives us one more reason to keep choosing it.
The small plates lineup includes:
- Charcuterie: cured beef, candied bacon, smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar, and pickles
- Glazed Sticky Ribs with cowboy beans and jalapeño crisps
- Queso Fundido with Barbecue Burnt Ends, served with warm tortilla chips
- Sweet Golden Corn Fritters with cilantro ranch dressing and red chili honey
- Chipotle Chicken Tostada with queso fresco, lime crema, and pickled cactus salsa
- Mini Hot Dog Platter, wrapped in pastry and served with tortilla chips and queso
Non-alcoholic specialty drinks include an Orange Cream Soda (Fanta Orange with vanilla and cream), Caramel Root Beer with Sweet Cream (Barq’s with caramel and a sweet cream topping), Enchanting Ember Lemonade (Minute Maid Premium Lemonade with strawberry and hot honey), and Enchanted Grove Lime Splash (Minute Maid Limeade with cucumber and mint).
On the cocktail side, the lineup includes a Whinnyin’ Whiskey Lemonade with Jack Daniel’s and Aperol, a Cactus Rose Margarita built on LALO Blanco Tequila and prickly pear, the High Plains Huckleberry with 44° North Mountain Huckleberry Vodka and crème de cassis, a Rattler Rum Punch with Bacardí Superior Rum and passion fruit, and the Coal’d Fashioned, Buffalo Trace bourbon paired with Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur and cinnamon syrup. A seasonal cocktail called In Holiday Fashion, built on Buffalo Trace bourbon with rosemary syrup and cranberry, rounds things out. The wine and beer list sticks to a smaller, focused selection: Nino Franco Rustico Prosecco, Fess Parker Riesling, MacMurray Estate Pinot Noir, and draft pours of Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Yuengling Traditional Lager, and Cigar City Jai Alai IPA.
One scheduling note worth planning around: this pop-up won’t be available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but it will run during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party once the holiday season kicks in. As always, everything here is subject to change and availability.
The Coal’d Fashioned is the one we’re most excited to try. A cold brew coffee liqueur riff on an Old Fashioned fits the saloon setting better than almost anything else on this list, and pairing it with the Queso Fundido and Burnt Ends sounds like the right way to spend an afternoon in Liberty Square this fall.
