Disney Lakeshore Lodge We Got an Insider Preview on Bay Lake With Walt Disney Imagineering

The reveal builds on what we saw during our insider preview with Walt Disney Imagineering back in May, and follows the recent installation of the otter figures at Otter Springs. For the full history of the project, our Disney Lakeshore Lodge hub tracks every update as it comes in.

Across 967 rooms, Disney is leaning on a different animated film for each accommodation type, each with its own color palette and design details pulled from the studio’s archives.

Duo studios sleep two and draw from Encanto, with a colorful, cozy layout aimed at couples. Deluxe studios and one- and two-bedroom villas pull from Bambi instead, with earth tones, forest motifs, and archival concept art, sleeping up to four in the studios and up to five or nine in the villas depending on size. Three-bedroom grand villas take their inspiration from Fantasia, sleep up to 12 guests, and are aimed at multigenerational family groups with multiple bathrooms and a full kitchen. Resort studios and resort studio king rooms lean on Pocahontas, sleeping four and two respectively.

The new format is the Lake House, a one- or two-bedroom freestanding retreat directly on Bay Lake’s shoreline with A-frame architecture and floor-to-ceiling windows. These sleep five or eight guests, include a full kitchen and a washer and dryer, and draw their theming from Brother Bear, right down to a Northern Lights-inspired lighting feature in the primary bedroom. Walt Disney World hasn’t had a waterfront accommodation format quite like this before, and it’s the piece of this reveal most worth watching.

Guests staying in select club level rooms get access to The Artist’s Nest, a concierge lounge positioned above the treetops with Magic Kingdom fireworks views included. At the top of the lineup is the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite, sleeping up to six with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and the same Artist’s Nest access, with Bay Lake views by day and fireworks views by night.

Reservations open in three phases. Disney Vacation Club members can book starting October 6 by calling Member Services. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders follow on October 7. Everyone else can book starting October 8, either online or by phone. Disney still hasn’t announced pricing for any room category.
