Emily Ricks, the voice of Bonnie in the Toy Story franchise, announced at D23 that she is joining Inanimate Insanity as a new character named Éclair. Ricks shared the news on Instagram, writing that she’s “so excited to be joining the Inanimate Insanity world as Éclair,” and that her original song for the character, “Can’t Catch Me,” drops September 4 alongside Éclair’s debut episode, Season 4, Episode 7. This is also Disney news in its own right. Ricks has voiced Bonnie since Toy Story 3 and reprised the role for Toy Story 5 this summer, and she’s built a music career alongside her voice work, including songs like “Call It Falling.” Éclair marks her first announced role outside the Toy Story franchise, and giving her a full original song for the character is a bigger showcase than most guest casting news gets in this fandom.
