Regal is bringing back Month of Masterpieces for a second year, and this time four filmmakers are picking the lineup. Rian Johnson, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Edgar Wright, and Chloé Zhao each selected five films that shaped them as storytellers, joining 10 more picks from Regal’s own film team for a full month of classic and cult favorites running throughout September.
Brooks LeBoeuf, Senior Vice President of US Content at Regal, said the program exists to celebrate the films that remind audiences “why we fell in love with movies in the first place,” and that this year’s guest curators offer a rare look at the movies that shaped some of today’s most distinctive filmmakers.
