The darker side of magic is taking over The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort this fall. Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle returns to Hogsmeade for the first time since 2022, Death Eaters are back prowling Diagon Alley, and Universal is rolling out new Dark Arts-inspired merchandise to go with both.

Speaking of Harry Potter, this year marks the 25th anniversary, and the films are returning to movie theaters with a slew of Harry Potter Popcorn Buckets.

Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle – The projection show returns to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure on select nights from September 5 through November 1. As night falls over the castle, Dementors, Death Eaters, and more of Voldemort’s followers take over Hogwarts in a projection-mapped spectacle built with special effects, lighting, and music pulled straight from the film scores. This is the show’s first return since 2022, so longtime fans have been waiting a while for this one.

Death Eaters in Diagon Alley – Over at Universal Studios Florida, Death Eaters return to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley on select days and nights from August 27 through November 1, roaming the shadows of Knockturn Alley just as they have in past years. While you’re in the area, Borgin and Burkes, the shadowy Knockturn Alley shop known for its shady patrons and unusual objects, is worth a stop for anyone leaning into the season’s darker theme.

New Dark Arts Merchandise – Universal is also releasing new Dark Arts-inspired merchandise for the season, including a Second Generation Interactive Wand modeled after the wand wielded by Lord Voldemort himself. We covered the full Second Generation Interactive Wand lineup when it first launched, and this Voldemort design slots into that same collection, complete with the illumination effects and haptic vibrations that come with the line.
