New aerial photos over Disney’s Hollywood Studios show significant construction progress on Monstropolis, the Monsters Inc. themed land replacing the former Muppets Courtyard. Full credit for these images goes to bioreconstruct on X, whose aerial flyovers continue to give fans one of the clearest looks at ongoing Walt Disney World construction.

The roller coaster is progressing quickly, with track supports now visible alongside structural steel that has already reached the height of the building housing the attraction. Nearby, the entrance frame for Harryhausen’s has formed, marking where guests will walk into the restaurant. At the front of the land, final theming work is already underway, with walkways being poured along the entrance path. On the side of the land’s new quick-service restaurant, an early facade with Monsters theming has also started to take shape.

These updates follow Disney’s official confirmation of the Monstropolis storyline in June, including the H.U.M.A.N. Day concept and the naming of both Harryhausen’s and the Glob Theater. You can read that full breakdown here: The Monstropolis Storyline Is Here and Harryhausen’s Is Officially Confirmed.

Harryhausen’s itself carries a deeper story than most guests will realize, tied to a real-world tribute Pixar built into the original film. We covered that in detail back in March: Harryhausen’s Sushi Is Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Leading the project is Scott Malwitz, executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering. He has also served on the International Board of the Themed Entertainment Association and the Board of Directors for the Society for Environmental Graphic Design, and was the founding president of the Museum Committee for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
