July 1, 2026

Written by Greg Gately

Halloween Horror Nights is opening the Lament Configuration for the first time in the event’s history. Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have announced an all-new Hellraiser haunted house inspired by the original trilogy, bringing Pinhead and the Cenobites to both coasts this fall as part of Halloween Horror Nights 2026, the event’s landmark 35th year.

The Hellraiser haunted house draws from the first three films in Clive Barker’s genre-defining franchise, Hellraiser (1987), Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988), and Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992). It opens Friday, August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood, with legendary Pinhead actor Doug Bradley reprising his role to voice the character in both houses.

What the Hellraiser Haunted House Includes

Guests will begin their journey by stepping directly into the iconic Lament Configuration puzzle box, unknowingly opening a gateway into another dimension inhabited by the Cenobites. From there, the house pulls guests through some of the trilogy’s most recognizable locations, including the shadowy attic in Frank Cotton’s family home where he was first pulled into Hell, and the unsettling Channard Institute, where the puzzle box continues tempting new victims with promises of forbidden pleasure. The experience ends in The Labyrinth, where Pinhead and the Cenobites are waiting.

Universal describes Hellraiser as a franchise that helped redefine supernatural horror by blending psychological terror, graphic imagery, and philosophical themes around pain and desire since its 1987 debut. This marks the first time the series has been adapted into a Halloween Horror Nights haunted house on either coast.

New Hellraiser Merchandise

Limited-release Hellraiser merchandise tied to the haunted house is already available at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, and it launches online Wednesday, July 1 at 9am PST on shopUniversal.com. The lineup includes a T-shirt and a Pinhead acrylic figure, which can be added to the separately sold Infernal Carnival collectible display.

Where Hellraiser Fits in the HHN 2026 Lineup

Hellraiser joins a growing roster of haunted houses for Halloween Horror Nights 35, including previously announced experiences based on Sinners and Stranger Things Season 5, alongside original concepts like H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular, MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals, Cybergoria, and Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control.
