Disney has announced Lilo & Scratch, a brand new animated short starring Stitch, set to debut in theaters alongside Hexed on November 25. It marks the first new Disney Animation project to feature the character since the original Lilo & Stitch hit theaters back in 2002.
The short was revealed on June 26, a date Disney calls 626 Day in honor of Stitch’s experiment number. Directors Fawn Veerasunthorn and Malcon Pierce gave fans a first look at the project, which brings back Chris Sanders in his original role as the voice of Stitch and Maia Kealoha reprising her role as Lilo from the 2025 live-action film.

In Lilo & Scratch, Lilo introduces a mysterious new cat named Scratch as the latest member of the ‘ohana before running off to handle some errands, leaving Stitch in charge. What follows is a trail of destruction as Stitch quickly realizes he may have finally found a creature even more chaotic than himself.
Disney says the short stays true to the look and feel of the 2002 original, blending hand-drawn and CG animation with rich watercolor backgrounds in a style the studio describes as a new approach for the studio. It will play in front of Hexed when that film opens exclusively in theaters this Thanksgiving. FLN covered the first trailer for Hexed and the film’s full cast reveal at CinemaCon earlier this year, and Lilo & Scratch now joins it as part of the same theatrical release.
