Disney has announced “Mickey’s Home Alone,” a new full-length Christmas special coming to Disney Jr. and Disney+ this holiday season, putting Mickey Mouse and Pluto in a Home Alone-style adventure while the rest of the gang scrambles to get back to them.
In the special, Mickey is looking forward to a quiet Christmas at home when Minnie surprises everyone with tickets to a world-famous Ice Palace. In the morning rush to get out the door, Mickey and Pluto are left behind. While the two protect their home from a raccoon and a weasel who are after their Christmas dinner, Minnie and the gang race to make it back in time.

The special features two original songs — “Ho-Ho-Home for Christmas” and “Favorite Christmas Feeling” — written by songwriter Keith Harrison Dworkin, along with a new arrangement of “Jingle Bells.” The score is by Tony Morales.
“Mickey’s Home Alone” is produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Jr., executive produced by Tom Rogers, co-executive produced by Rachel Ruderman, and directed by Shane Prigmore. A specific premiere date within the 2026 holiday season has not yet been announced.
Our Take: The Home Alone premise mapped onto Mickey and Pluto is exactly the kind of concept that works on paper and should work on screen. A raccoon and a weasel after the Christmas dinner is funnier than any booby trap. This one is going on the holiday watchlist.
