The posts, which appeared on both the Paramount Pictures reel feed and the Scary Movie 6 account, show a glass globe-bottomed vessel packed with popcorn, complete with a long vertical tube and a side stem with what appears to be a quartz banger attached. Smoke billows dramatically around it. The Scary Movie logo is printed on the side. A second image shows four different sizes lined up with the tagline “Choose the piece that fits you just right.”

Now here is the part where we have to be honest with you: we do not actually know if this is real, nor do we think it is real. But, talk about a viral moment they have just made!
Scary Movie is a franchise built entirely on committing completely to the bit. This is the series that spent five films parodying every horror and pop culture touchstone it could find with zero restraint. A bong popcorn bucket is exactly the kind of thing the Scary Movie marketing team would post as a full-scale promotional reel that is also entirely a joke. Or it is exactly the kind of thing they would actually make and sell in theaters. With this franchise, both possibilities are equally on the table.
What we know for certain is that Scary Movie opens in theaters on June 5, 2026, and the film is rated NR with a runtime of one hour and 36 minutes. Director Mike Tiddes is bringing back the original Core Four: Marlon Wayans as Shorty Meeks, Shawn Wayans as Ray Wilkins, Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell, and Regina Hall as Brenda. Damon Wayans Jr., Cheri Oteri, Heidi Gardner, and a number of returning favorites round out the cast. The setup picks up 26 years after the original, with the Core Four back in a killer’s crosshairs as the film takes aim at reboots, requels, elevated horror, origin stories, and every “final chapter” that absolutely is not final.

Our Take: Whether this is a real concession item or the most elaborate joke in movie marketing history, the Scary Movie 6 team just won the internet for a day. That is worth something. If it does turn out to be a purchasable item, theaters are going to have a very interesting conversation with their concessions vendors. Either way, the bucket is doing exactly what a bucket is supposed to do — get people talking about the movie
