Muppet Easter Egg Hidden Inside Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 26, and the queue alone is worth the price of a park ticket — Imagineers packed the G-Force Records building and the surrounding alley with so many Muppet callbacks, props, and deep-cut Easter eggs that you could ride it a dozen times and still spot something new.

Disney Parks Blog dropped the full Easter egg rundown (we think there are more, honestly) ahead of opening day, and it reads like a love letter to every era of Muppet history. Here is everything hidden inside the ride, broken down by area so you know exactly where to look. Plus, you can watch the YouTube video below.

Gallery Case Room: Curated by Yolanda the Rat

The first room you enter after walking into G-Force Records immediately sets the tone. Yolanda the Rat is officially listed as the curator, which is peak Muppet energy. Inside the gallery cases, look for a tribute to Miss Piggy featuring one of her iconic polka dot dresses with a matching hat. Kermit’s original banjo — the actual one he played “The Rainbow Connection” on — was recently donated to the Walt Disney Archives, so Imagineers built a faithful recreation for display here. And both Floyd Pepper’s and Janice’s guitars on display are original instruments from The Muppet Show itself, not replicas.

The Alley: A MuppetVision 3D Treasure Hunt

This is where the deep-cut fans are going to lose their minds. Multiple props were physically transported from MuppetVision 3D and placed throughout the alley, including shipping crates from the attraction’s building exterior. Statler and Waldorf’s actual theater balcony chairs from MuppetVision are tucked inside — the same cranky old geezers, the same seats. Gonzo has branched out into education with Gonzo’s Stunt School Hollywood, and his “The Great Gonzo” banner from the MuppetVision pre-show is hanging nearby alongside his stunt airplane. The cannon the penguins once aimed at the Swedish Chef in MuppetVision? That’s here too. Pizza fans will find PizzeRizzo pizza boxes from the Hollywood Studios restaurant, and the Mona Lisa from Mama Melrose has somehow made it into the alley as well. Look for laundry strung up on the fire escape above — it includes Fozzie’s bowtie, a PizzeRizzo apron, and a tour shirt for The Electric Mayhem. Two of the bigger callouts: the nearby Squeakeasy was established in 1936, the year Jim Henson was born, and a flier on the wall reports that Bean Bunny has gone missing. The billboard advertising a product called Pop Off is also worth a second look — that is the same building where Fozzie hid his Studebaker in The Muppet Movie.

Muppet Labs Parking Garage: Bunsen and Beaker’s Automotive Division

Bunsen and Beaker have been hard at work, and their parking garage shows it. The Interpol Car from Muppets Most Wanted is parked here, and the fan-favorite Muppet Mobile Labs unit is also on site. The Mobile Labs has appeared at EPCOT, Disney California Adventure, and Hong Kong Disneyland over the years, so seeing it anchored as a permanent fixture here is a treat.

On the Hollywood 101 Freeway: Eyes Open During the Ride

Once you are launched and flying through the coaster, the Easter eggs keep coming. You will whiz past World Wide Studios, the famous movie studio location from The Muppet Movie. The PizzeRizzo sign has also relocated to the freeway corridor. Look for a Waldo crossing sign — a loving nod to Waldo the Spirit of 3D from MuppetVision. And yes, there is an “Obligatory Easter Egg” reference planted somewhere along the route, because of course there is.

Backstage at the Concert: The Jim Henson Tribute

At the end of the ride, as you coast to a stop backstage at The Electric Mayhem concert, two familiar faces refuse to enjoy the show: Statler and Waldorf, in the flesh, lifted directly from MuppetVision 3D. And overhead, the portrait of Jim Henson depicted as a Muppet — which used to hang in the MuppetVision pre-show rafters — now has a permanent home here. That detail alone is going to hit hard for anyone who grew up with that attraction.

Our Take

This is what a transition done right looks like. The Aerosmith era of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster had a good run, but this attraction was clearly built by people who care deeply about the Muppets and wanted to honor the full history of the franchise at Hollywood Studios, not just bolt new characters onto an existing ride. Pulling actual props from MuppetVision 3D, housing Kermit’s recreated banjo, and placing the Jim Henson portrait where guests can finally see it after the ride — these are thoughtful choices that will reward Muppet fans for years. When Disney Imagineering is firing on all cylinders, the details are everything. This looks like one of those times.
