Hasbro just announced Ultimate Grogu, a 1:1 scale animatronic of the beloved Star Wars character that delivers over 250 animations and sounds, and pre-orders are open right now at Hasbro Pulse, Amazon, and Fan Channel retailers ahead of the Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu film hitting theaters on May 22.

This is not a plush. This is not a bobblehead. Hasbro is calling Ultimate Grogu the first-of-its-kind animatronic for the character, built with motors, sensors, and microphones that bring him to life in three different play modes. He waves. He giggles. He toddles forward. The figure is rated for collectors 14 and up, which tells you everything about who this is actually made for.

The 1:1 scale means this Grogu stands at the same size as the character in the show, and the attention to screen-accurate detail shows throughout. His face is soft-skinned, his hair is rooted, and his outfit includes a fabric robe, chainmail, cross strap, satchel, and beskar rondel armor, all pulled directly from the visual language of The Mandalorian series and the upcoming film.

Hasbro is offering two versions at launch. The standard edition ships in early 2027. For fans who want it sooner, a limited First Edition run ships in late 2026 and comes with special packaging and an exclusive collector card. Both versions are available to pre-order right now.

Hasbro Pulse and Amazon are the primary pre-order destinations, along with Fan Channel retailers. The product number is G2896 and the figure requires four batteries.

Hasbro’s Head of Disney Action Brands, Adam Biehl, said the development team spent serious time studying how the character was brought to life in the show, and the result is the most interactive and expressive Grogu figure Hasbro has ever made. That is a claim with a lot of product history behind it, and the animatronic specs back it up.

For Disney World fans, there is something extra resonant here. Grogu has been walking around Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios as a meet-and-greet animatronic for a while now, and watching him tilt his head and blink in person is genuinely one of the more magical things the park pulls off. Hasbro is essentially trying to bring that same feeling home, and based on everything shown so far, they came close. If you have ever stood in line to see the Galaxy’s Edge version and thought about what it would take to have that on your shelf, this is the answer. The First Edition is the one to go after if the collector card and earlier ship date matter to you, and given how these limited runs tend to go, moving on it sooner rather than later is the smarter play.

Pre-orders are live now. You can read more about Hasbro’s Star Wars lineup on our Star Wars hub at Fantasy Land News, and check our Disney Collector’s Guide for more on what’s worth your shelf space right now.
