Former Disney CEO Bob Iger has received the inaugural WishMaker Lifetime Achievement Award from Make-A-Wish America, presented during Wishes Assemble, Disney’s first-of-its-kind wish event held at Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure on April 29, 2026.

The award was presented by Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, in recognition of Iger’s extraordinary contributions to the organization during his time leading The Walt Disney Company. Under his tenure, Disney helped grant more than 110,000 wishes for children facing critical illnesses. Last year alone, Disney provided Make-A-Wish with $30 million in support.
“Throughout Bob’s tenure, his dedication and investment to ensuring that the magic of Disney reaches as many wish families as possible has allowed wishes to come to life in ways only Disney can deliver,” Motter said. “We’re thrilled to honor him with this much-deserved lifetime achievement award.”
Disney remains the world’s largest WishMaker for Make-A-Wish, granting a wish every hour of every day. In total, Disney has helped grant more than 175,000 wishes alongside the organization since the partnership began more than 45 years ago at Disneyland Resort.
The Iger recognition is one of the more meaningful moments to come out of a Disney Week of Wishes that had no shortage of them. It is one thing to write a check and another to build the kind of institutional commitment that produces 110,000 granted wishes across a tenure. That number represents 110,000 children and families who got a moment of joy during some of the hardest stretches of their lives. That legacy is worth stopping to acknowledge.
