Disney+ has revealed its full April 2026 lineup, headlined by a new Star Wars original series, the return of Daredevil: Born Again, a Disneynature film dropping on Earth Day, and a Hannah Montana marathon celebrating the show’s 20th anniversary. Here is everything coming to the service this month.

The Biggest New Originals This Month

Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord kicks off with a two-episode premiere on April 6. Set after the events of The Clone Wars, the series follows Maul as he attempts to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire, where he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan he hopes to turn into an apprentice. New episodes continue on April 13, 20, and 27.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 continues its weekly Tuesday release schedule throughout April, dropping new episodes on April 7, 14, 21, and 28. Season 2 picks up with Mayor Wilson Fisk tightening his grip on New York City while Matt Murdock fights back from the shadows to dismantle the Kingpin’s empire.

Disneynature’s Orangutan arrives on April 22 — Earth Day — narrated by Josh Gad. The film follows Indah, a young orangutan navigating life in the rainforest canopy of Southeast Asia as she prepares to leave her family for the first time. It is directed by Mark Linfield and co-directed by Vanessa Berlowitz, with original music by Nitin Sawhney.

Disney Animation’s Songs in Sign Language premieres April 27 in celebration of National Deaf History Month. The special features three animated musical sequences — “The Next Right Thing” from Frozen 2, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto, and “Beyond” from Moana 2 — newly reimagined and animated in American Sign Language. The production was created in collaboration with Deaf West Theatre and directed by veteran Disney animator Hyrum Osmond.

Live Events and Sports

On April 5 at 7pm ET, ESPN, Disney, Pixar, and the NHL team up for the Inside Out Classic — a real-time animated broadcast of the Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers game. It is one of the more genuinely creative sports experiments Disney has attempted in years and worth catching live.

On April 25 at 7pm ET, the Banana Ball: Party Animals vs. Bananas game streams live on Disney+ and ESPN Unlimited.

New Streams and Marathon Programming

April brings several new curated streams for Disney+ Premium subscribers. A Hannah Montana stream launches now, collecting all four seasons plus the film and concert special to mark the show’s 20th anniversary. An Ice Age stream launches April 1. A Once Upon a Time stream covering all seven seasons arrives April 23. An Animated Classics stream featuring titles including The Lion King and Mulan launches April 29.

The Malcolm in the Middle stream is also live now, running all seven original seasons ahead of the four-episode revival debuting on Hulu in April.

Other Notable Premieres

Secrets of the Bees, a National Geographic series from explorer Bertie Gregory, premieres April 1 with all episodes available. The series spent three years filming inside a single hive using specialized cameras to document bee behavior and architecture across more than 20,000 species.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ returns with new episodes on April 22, continuing the relaunched preschool series. SuperKitties Season 3 arrives April 29 on Disney Jr. with a new story arc set in the Kittydale Wild Jungle.

The Honest Take

April is a genuinely strong month for Disney+, and Maul — Shadow Lord is the one to watch most closely. Star Wars originals have had a mixed run on the service, but a series built entirely around one of the franchise’s most compelling characters, set in the Clone Wars era that fans know well, has real potential. The Songs in Sign Language special on April 27 is also worth your time; it is the kind of quietly thoughtful project Disney does not always get credit for. And if you have kids, the Inside Out Classic NHL broadcast on April 5 is exactly the kind of experience that reminds you why Disney owning ESPN is a genuinely interesting combination when they use it well.
