Disney World Cast Members Are Getting New Costumes with Hidden Mickeys

Walt Disney World’s Disney Live Entertainment Costuming team has unveiled three new cast member costume designs, and they are worth watching for on your next visit. Fresh looks are rolling out for parking and auto plaza cast members, The Land Pavilion at EPCOT, and outdoor vending cast at Magic Kingdom. Each design was built around a specific story, and the details are more thoughtful than you might expect from a work uniform. Disney shared the new looks in honor of Fashion Week, and the costuming team opened up about the process behind each one.

Cast members are one of the most visible and celebrated parts of the Walt Disney World experience. Earlier this year we covered how Disney guests broke records with 3 million digital cast compliments, and we were on the ground for Goofy’s Mystery Tour 2026 at Animal Kingdom. The costuming program is another piece of how Disney invests in the cast member experience from the outside in.

New Parking and Auto Plaza Costumes. The first new look belongs to the parking and auto plaza cast members, and it is a legitimate print design worth looking at closely. Costume Designer Nicole built the shirt around the iconic Walt Disney World Mickey globe logo combined with sketches of famous vehicles from Walt Disney World attractions and Disney Animation. The print spans classic and current, pulling in everything from Herbie the Love Bug on the nostalgic end to TRON Lightcycle / Run on the contemporary end.

Beyond the print, the construction was designed for movement. Raglan sleeves give cast members room to work, and epaulettes on the shoulders add a functional element that was requested through cast feedback. Nicole described the goal as finding the best balance of past, present, and future with the vehicles and iconography, hoping both cast and guests would find something familiar in the design.

The Land Pavilion at EPCOT Gets a Nature-Inspired Refresh. The Land Pavilion at EPCOT is getting new costumes that pull directly from the pavilion’s own visual history. Some pieces in the collection feature an abstract rendition of The Land’s original icon, rendered in an organic, impressionist style that echoes the windswept art found throughout the pavilion. The Living with the Land boat ride loading platform, with its large painted mural, was a direct visual inspiration for the overall look.

Costume Designer Josh led this project with a deliberate focus on vintage EPCOT. His goal was to bring that original EPCOT storytelling into the costumes in a way that still felt appropriate to each individual area and cast role within the pavilion, all of which have their own separate visual aesthetics. The result respects the pavilion’s history without feeling like a retro costume.

Magic Kingdom Outdoor Vending Costumes with Hidden Mickeys. The Magic Kingdom outdoor vending team is getting the most layered new design of the three. The costume features a blue top with a custom chambray-inspired print built around two themes: fireworks and natural flora found throughout the various lands of Magic Kingdom. The fireworks reference is a nod to the end-of-night shows that define Magic Kingdom visits for most guests.

The hidden detail is the one that will give guests something to spot on their next visit. The costuming team embedded hidden Mickeys throughout the print, placed in the tradition of designers inserting Easter eggs into collections that only reveal themselves on close inspection. It is a very Disney thing to do with a work uniform, and it gives guests an actual reason to look twice at a cast member’s shirt.

The fabric itself was also upgraded. The new costumes use performance-style materials with stretch and UPF sun protection, which matters significantly for outdoor cast members working in Florida summers. The design process for all three costume collections included cast feedback sessions, wear tests, try-ons, and role shadows, meaning cast members were involved at every stage before the final garments went into production.

Josh summed up the team’s approach: constantly sharing learnings across projects so that every successful fabric choice, design detail, or style decision feeds into future work. The ultimate goal is always to focus on the cast experience as much as the visual result.

When Will You See These Costumes? The new designs are rolling out now across Walt Disney World. Parking and auto plaza cast members are the first group most guests will encounter on arrival, so the new vehicle print shirt is likely to be the first new costume visitors notice. Inside the parks, keep an eye on the Land Pavilion cast at EPCOT and the outdoor vending cast throughout Magic Kingdom’s various lands for the other two designs.
