Universal Orlando Trolls Disney with Dinosaurs! It’s official: the “Countdown to Extinction” has reached zero. As of today, February 2, 2026, DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is permanently closed, marking the end of a 28-year era. But while Disney fans are mourning the loss of the DINOSAUR attraction and the kitschy charm of Dinoland USA, Universal Orlando Resort couldn’t resist a little prehistoric “I told you so.”

“We Have Plenty of Dinosaurs”

True to form, Universal Orlando’s social media team wasted no time. Shortly after the gates locked at DinoLand, Universal posted a series of lush, towering photos of Jurassic Park at Islands of Adventure with a cheeky caption:

“Don’t worry. We have plenty of dinosaurs.”

The jab hit home for many fans who spent yesterday waiting in record-breaking four-hour lines for one final ride on DINOSAUR. While Disney is moving away from the “Dino” theme in favor of a Tropical Americas land, Universal is doubling down on its status as the reigning king of the Cretaceous.

While Disney fans are excited for the arrival of Encanto and Indy, Universal’s timing is surgical. With Epic Universe now a major player in the Orlando landscape and the Jurassic World VelociCoaster still dominating “Best Roller Coaster” lists, Universal is making sure everyone knows where to go if they still want to hear a T-Rex roar.
