‘Use the Force to Relax’ Grogu Leads New Jedi Breathing Exercises for Kids. Disney and Lucasfilm are teaming up with GoNoodle to put a Jedi spin on classroom brain breaks, or just a moment while at home. The new partnership brings Star Wars characters into short videos designed to help kids move around and stay calm during the school day, in the living room, and in learning spaces. Video below.

The first video features Grogu—often called “Baby Yoda” by fans. In the clip, he leads students through a mindful breathing exercise. The idea is to use “Jedi training” tricks to help kids center themselves when they feel restless or overwhelmed.

Why it matters for teachers and parents

Teachers have used GoNoodle for years to help students get their energy out or settle down between lessons. By adding Star Wars, the creators hope to make these transitions a bit more fun.

“We want kids to experience stories they love in a way that’s active and meaningful,” said Jeff Benjenk, a VP of marketing at Disney.

KC Estenson, the CEO of GoNoodle, says Grogu is a perfect fit for this because the character embodies curiosity and balance. The goal isn’t just to entertain, but to help kids learn how to regulate their emotions and focus on their schoolwork.

What’s next?

This Grogu video is just the start. Disney plans to release more Star Wars-themed movement and mindfulness videos throughout the year.

The timing lines up with a big year for the franchise. The new movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, hits theaters on May 22, 2026. On that same day, Disney Parks will update the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run ride to include the duo.

So, if your kid comes home talking about doing “the Force” to stay calm during a math test, now you know why.

In the new GoNoodle video titled “Balanced Breathing with Grogu,” kids learn a technique that uses simple hand movements to help them settle their “busy” energy.

Here is how the “Jedi training” works:

  • The Setup: Kids are asked to sit comfortably with their feet still and hands resting on their laps, palms up.
  • The Movement: They lift their right hand high while keeping the left hand down. Then, they slowly switch, bringing the right hand down and the left hand up.
  • The Breathing: The key is to match the breath to the movement. You inhale as the right hand goes up and exhale as it comes down.
  • The “Frog” Variation: To make it more fun, the video adds imaginary (and eventually animated) frogs. Grogu “catches” a hopping frog in his hand as it goes up, balances it during the breath, and lets it hop away as his hand lowers.

The video even acknowledges that it’s okay to feel distracted—like when Grogu gets sidetracked by croaking frogs in the middle of the exercise—but encourages kids to just keep practicing to find their “Force” focus again.

This new partnership is just the start of a big year for the duo. All this mindfulness practice is leading up to their return to the big screen in The Mandalorian & Grogu, which hits theaters on May 22, 2026. Directed by Jon Favreau, the movie will follow Din Djarin and his young apprentice as they take on a dangerous mission for the New Republic. They’ll be facing off against Imperial warlords and even meeting some familiar faces, like Rotta the Hutt. It’s the first Star Wars movie in six years, and judging by the “Jedi skills” kids are learning now, Grogu is going to need all the focus he can get.
